Prom?

Well this Saturday was going to be my first prom, and I do always love an excuse to get dressed up fancy and put loads of effort into my hair and makeup(well maybe not LOADS but still). What the rainy evening became however was a gay rights protest, for two of my dearest friends who were denied entry to the dance, on the sidewalks of the school which in my opinion was much more enjoyable than actually attending the dance, and was time well spent. The fact that we didn't go into the prom was no reason not to look like a million bucks though! I wore my 1940s evening gown that I discovered at a vintage shop in Paris (KY:/ ) with some gorgeous black satin peeptoe heels. I did my hair in Rita Hayworth-esque waves to go along with the era of the dress, and did my makeup Clara Bow style.

I absolutely had to have a picture of these shoes:)
That evening was a wonderful experience, and not just because I got to wear my fantastic dress. I'm just so glad to have gotten an opportunity to show my support for my friends and that so many other people were supporting them as well. My first prom and first protest all in one night! A surprisingly eventful weekend for me...

Bored, bored, bored...

Oh how I wish something exciting would happen. Or even just to live somewhere that had interesting things to do and interesting places to visit near by. But no. I live here, and the most I can do to entertain myself is dress up in pretty clothes. Oh and read. I do that too. So this weekend I donned my canary yellow knit minidress, neon pink flats, and huge hoop earrings with a sort of sixties flair in an effort to combat the dreary weather of Saturday.

Reading...cause it's really one of the only things to do...

Surprise! It's the freeloading Friday!

So that was about all. Very uneventful weekend for me (as always) but I hope that your's had more substance! Farewell then darlings!
